This is my bachelor thesis at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf. It took me eight months to make this video. Two colleagues of mine composed the musikc and made the great sound effects. I also spend a long time with exploration of the traditional puppet theater and have implemented much of it in the animation. The light is a symbol of the soul of the puppet and it draws the "path of the soul of the dancer" ("der Weg der Seele des Tänzers"). The threads serve as a metaphor, and are connected with the symbol of the puppet. The chess pieces are the same as the puppet, manipulated by unknown powers, which are not shown in the animation.
